Welcome to SOMA Ceramics Courses, where we will teach you the skills needed to become an independent potter.
This means you should be able to walk into any studio, sit at any wheel, and keep going on your own. During our time together we will support you in gaining the confidence and knowledge required to troubleshoot any encountered challenges when working with clay. Hopefully we will also begin to explore and develop your personal creative style on this exciting journey.
Courses are suitable for beginners and seasoned practitioners alike. Ages 12+.

Perfect for creating organic, irregular forms.
Handbuilding is tactile and intimate– each piece carries visible traces of your touch.
Wheel
Perfect for creating symmetrical vessels with refined forms.
Wheel throwing is rhythmic and meditative — each piece is shaped through centred pressure and steady hands.
Understand and experience the complete pottery process of clay preparation, creation, bis-firing, glaze application, and glaze firing.
