Trained in Edinburgh (UK) and Singapore, Deborah obtained BA(First-Class Hons) in Fine Arts from LASALLE College of the Arts Singapore in 2016. Between 2011 and 2016, she exhibited in Hong Kong, Edinburgh, and Singapore.
During this period, Deborah's creative practice explored the relationship between mankind and nature. Through decontextualising the everyday gestures of our human bodies, her performance art and installation sculptures engaged with urban narratives of belonging, displacement, and intergenerational trauma. She drew inspiration from interconnecting themes found within traditional rituals and folklore across ancient civilisations, and grounded her research in Carl Jung’s theories of the collective unconscious and archetypes.
Following a decade of profound spiritual experiences and further studies in Psychology and Education, Deborah's current works celebrate the beauty of our shared mortal experiences in life, death, and rebirth.
